My passion is to educate my clients so that they can make intelligent and informed decisions.
My goal is to tailor my representation to meet needs of each client individually. There are no cookie cutter divorces or family law cases.
Education
In 1991 I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma. I earned my Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa School of Law in 1995.
Professional Background
I practiced law in Tulsa Oklahoma as a sole practitioner from July 1997 through October 2011 and from 11-1-21 to present. In 2011 I entered the law partnership of Studebaker & Worley PLLC. My focus throughout my career has been on family law -- divorce, child custody, child support, adoptions, and guardianships.
Service
I have been active in the Tulsa County and Oklahoma Family Law sections. I completed a 40-hour mediation training in 2003 and enjoy conducting mediation in family cases and also serving as a Parenting Coordinator.
I have taught continuing education classes within Oklahoma on the topics of Joint Custody, Alimony, Property Division and Parenting Coordinator work.
I served as Budget Officer of the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section in 2005 and 2006; a CLE Chair of the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section in 2007; Chairman of the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section in 2008; and I have served on the Tulsa Lawyers for Children representing children in cases in juvenile court.
Areas of Practice
Divorce
I can handle all aspects of the divorce proceedings from start to finish, experienced in fighting for my clients; rights in all areas from property divisions, protecting the rights in regards to children, visitation, and post-divorce family care. Each case is given individual attention and the care that your family deserves. I’m committed to making this process as painless as possible.
Child Support Modification & Collection
I help clients who need modification of current child support in instances where there is a decrease in income. Or, if a spouse has experienced an increase in income, I will work to get child support payments increased. And of course, I fight to make sure that any back payments in child support are settled as quickly as possible.
Custody
The most important element of any separation or divorce including custody proceedings is the child or the children involved. The top priority is caring for the safety and security of the children. To this end, I strive to peacefully and fairly resolve any custody issues with special sensitivity to your most valuable possession, your children.
Guardianship
I handle adult and child guardianship cases alike and can skillfully mediate. A guardianship does not terminate the parental rights of a child’s biological parents in any case, but sometimes an arrangement is necessary to provide a safe and nurturing environment for a child while his or her biological parents work out the details of a separation, divorce, or other family situation.
Adoptions
There are few things more beautiful and satisfying than placing a child into a safe and loving adoptive home. I am equipped for all aspects of the adoption process and work closely within the system to see that wanted children are cared for and provided for in the eyes of the law.
Wills
From simple wills to complex arrangements, I can work closely with tax professionals to ensure that all monetary and legal implications are satisfied. I know that your estate is your heritage and the security of your family, so I work hard to minimize the effects of ever-changing taxation standards on your investment.
Trusts
I can provide solid estate planning in the form of a living revocable trust, which can swiftly and easily help your family settle your will and estate rather than having to deal with the headaches that can often accompany probate. Whether you are in retirement or just starting out, I customize trusts to fit your needs. And I will walk you through each step to make sure you are comfortable and aware of your needs and rights so that when it’s needed, your financial future is provided for.
